Each week Members weigh-in and report how they are doing and this is a great way of staying ‘accountable’. Others will cheer you on when things are going well and pick you up and haul you back on the wagon when things are not going so well. Anne Collins responds with personal advice and tips to every member.

If you have a bad day or a ‘splurge’, instead of worrying about it and feeling guilty, simply drop in to our Confession Corner, and tell us about it. Other members will rush to your support and haul you right back on the wagon.
Small victories are very important – they add up to the BIG success. We have a special place for you to tell us about that pie you passed up on, that candy you refused, that temptation you resisted. Tell us about it, because as a group we are proud of each others successes.
One Perfect Day
Very often, a good day is all it takes to get you started or to get you back on track if you are having difficulty staying on your diet. We have a Perfect Day thread in which members commit to achieving Just One Perfect Day on their plan. Many members find that this one success leads to another and another…
A cheat-free weekend is something that ALL of us have difficulty with. That is why one of our members started the No-cheat-Weekend thread so others can check in on Friday and commit to a cheat-free weekend. It may not always work but it certainly helps to limit the damage!!
Top 5 Reasons for Losing Weight
Having the right Incentive is absolutely critical for successful weight loss. You must have a very clear reason WHY you want to lose weight and that is why we encourage all our members to think about WHY they are dieting and ask them to post their Top 5 Reasons. Reading through this thread is a wonderful way of staying motivated.
Late Night Eating
Snacking at night is a problem for many people. We have a great thread on this topic which includes tons of tips and advice on how to quit this habit or to incorporate healthy late-night snacks into your diet so you don’t stop losing weight.
199 Club (aka “ONEderland”)
If you weigh in excess of 200 pounds then SMASHING THE 200 POUND BARRIER is a powerful goal. That is why we started our 199 Club thread. You can talk to others who have smashed the 200 pound barrier and enjoy their help and support in doing the same!
1/2 Pound A Week Club
Many people, for various reasons, lose weight more slowly than others. This may be because of a medical condition, or because you are on meds that affect the rate you lose weight, or it may be because you have only a few pounds to lose. Whatever the reason, watching others lose weight faster can be frustrating. Because of this, we set up the 1/2 Pound A Week Club where people who lose more slowly support each other and make everything a whole lot easier.
We also have the Half Way to Goal Group and the 10-Pounds-To-Lose Group as well as many others.
Short Term Weight Loss Challenges
We have lots of short-term Challenges going on all the time to help keep you motivated, for example:
– Lose Your Pants by XYZ date (no, not literally!) rather drop a pants size!
– Mothers Day Challenge
– 4th July Challenge
– Any many more…
Diet Buddy Forum

This is where our new moms talk to other new moms who are working on losing that ‘baby’ weight! Members who are breastfeeding discuss dietary needs and share tips and advice with other nursing moms. A great place to relax, get help and get a little “me-time”.
Special thread for our Brides-to-Be to talk to each other and get help and support. Many are at different stages of their weight loss journey, some just starting out, some close to their wedding goal. A place to share your excitement, news of your dress shopping, wedding and honeymoon plans and, of course, to calm some of those “wedding nerves”.
If you have a condition that makes losing weight more difficult you will find it really helps to talk to others who have similiar difficulties and to know you are not alone. As well as sharing their weight loss progress, members also discuss what treatments they have tried, what has worked (and not worked). A wonderful thread that really makes a difference.
Some of our members find it helpful to pray together and anyone can join in and chat to like-minded people, share what is going on in your life and help and support each other to achieve your goals.
Working shift makes it more difficult to stick to a regular eating plan. Many of our members work 12-hour shifts and use this thread to talk to others for advice and tips – about food, meal-planning and tons of other issues. I would like to say a really big thanks to everyone!!! Even though I have only been in the program since Monday, I am totally amazed. Everyone is so helpful and upbeat. The inspiration and encouragement that comes from this group is just awesome. Anne, thanks mostly to you for providing all of us with such a great place to cry, gripe and laugh, and maybe solve our problems. My only regret is that I didn’t find this site sooner. I hope you all have a great (and healthy) weekend.
More Comments About The Forum
I am so surprised I stood on the scales 3 times to be sure but it’s true, I weighed in at 170 pounds this morning which is another loss of 3 pounds this week. That is 12 pounds in 4 weeks and I don’t even feel like I am depriving myself. I can’t believe this is happening to me and I’ve been doing the Forum’s HAPPY DANCE around the kitchen this morning! Thank you all for your help. I couldn’t have done this without you.
I only lost 2 pounds this week BUT I did make it to the BIG 50 pound loss, and that is exciting. I have never lost this much before and to be honest I know I would have given up long ago if it hadn’t been for Anne’s help and the support of all you good people here on the Forums. Can’t tell you how much I love you all and appreciate your support..
I am now 76 kilos so have reached my interim weight… I am so excited as only 4 more to go to reach my final goal of 72. It is so good fitting into the clothes I had put at back of wardrobe becasue they were too small for me. I feel I have a whole new wardrobe. When I joined I didn’t think I would ever be able to lose this much weight but THANKS to all you guys I have and am thrilled and if I can do it so can all of you…
I really came into this program thinking it would be like all the other things I have tried and wasted money on, but here is proof that Anne is different, because she helps us to become different people. This forum group is the best!
I did it!!! I finally reached my goal…in fact I am one pound under goal at 127 pounds! I can’t believe that I am here with the rest of you gals who have been such an inspiration to me along the way! Thanks for showing me that if you were successful, I could be too!
Another successful week (thank the Lord) Down to 256 pounds – That is a total of 24 so far in 6 weeks. Thank Heaven I have the best support team here and I want you all to know how much I appreciate your encouragement. I couldn’t do this without y’all.
Thankyou for your reply and for caring. I really feel that you’re sincere and help others with their weight loss battles. My blood work and fitness tests have all come back EXCELLENT. I feel great. I’ve got 20 more pounds to go. I’ve loss 20 already. I’m on a roll. Thanks again for caring about us all!
I see what people mean about this forum being so supportive! I’ve never been in such a wonderful wonderful wonderful place. I feel I’m surrounded by people just like me, who really want me to succeed. It all stems from Anne herself, but all you guys are so sweet and so caring. I’ve been 300 pounds for years and I’ve tried tons of different diets but NOTHING ever like this. I’ve lost 17 and a half pounds so far but much more important… I really do think I can succeed this time. No more losing and gaining the same 10 pounds! Sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone.
This forum is such a great support, it gives us all a chance to chat about successes and struggles and whatever you’re going through you can talk about and get support, on good days and bad. all in all its a low key, realistic, no gimmicks plan. work hard, make good choices, have a plan for how to overcome bad choices on bad days, work together and track your progress.
Even tho I have only been a member a short time myself (3 weeks today) I can assure you that this place is just great. There is so much support and inspiration, it makes you want to do good. I had never posted on any kind of message board or forum until this one. Now, I can hardly wait to check the new messages every day.
Even after I lose all the weight I need to I’m staying here because of the great friends I’ve made. It’s like a second family and so much encouragement.
This forum is unlike any other and that’s a good thing! Best part you don’t have to limit yourself on only one diet, you can change if you want and then change back; until you find the best fit for you!
Such positive attitudes on this forum really help me a lot. I print some of them out and during the week I look at them and it helps me to know that I’m not the only one.
I have dieted forever, and have tried to include my family in it, but not like this. Anne gave me a great piece of advice and that was not to change everything overnight. It’s really working and I can’t believe how lucky I was to stumble across this site.
I must say I’m doing fantastic! I love your program. So far I’ve lost 20 pounds in 8 weeks. And it’s so easy to follow. I won’t say I don’t still get cravings for all the bad things I used to eat but they are getting fewer every day.
I knew something was different when I started this program, this time. It really didn’t feel like one of the millions of diets I’ve been on in the past – it felt healthy, a true change of lifestyle.
I want to thank you for making this site so affordable. With 4 children, our expenses are great and we don’t make much money. This site is so great and I’m so happy you’re not in the business just to make money.
Found my motivation going this week and reread the “Time to refocus” reasons I gave and I was back on track! This would normally be where I would have given up dieting for a couple weeks but now I’m still on track. Thanks.
Thanks for all your support and encouragement. I feel like I’ve learned in one month a lifetime’s worth of information about having a positive attitude about eating.
Hi!, just wanted to let you know how incredibly wise you are. I was hesitating to join your program until after New Year’s as I have a Christmas Eve dinner to attend and a party New Year’s. You answered everything by just simply stating that a little indulging two days isn’t going to matter in the scheme of things, it will only take me a little longer to lose the 10 lbs I have struggled with for a year. Thank you for advice I will never forget. I’ve already gotten my money’s worth…
… thank you for being so accessible, providing input and feedback so readily! This forum has been a Godsend for me!
… Hello, you deserve all this credit and more! You have believed in me like no one else and most importantly, you showed me how to believe in myself! You truly are a great lady Anne, even with your busy schedule of clients that you see in your office each week, you still take the time to be here for us whenever we need you. I think of you as more than my nutritionist and weight-loss coach, you are a real friend!
I’m starting to take control of my life… thank you Anne for your clear, no-holds-barred, honest, in-your-face help….It just may have saved my life….really!
This discussion forum has really opened my eyes. To be able to talk to so many other women who are my size (300 pounds) and losing weight, and who are SO supportive… it’s such a positive experience. Bless you Anne.
Many will be able to relate to your story. I for one tried LA Weight Loss years ago, but unlike you I actually bought some of the products – talk about stupid! But, like you I learned my lesson – I stopped because I realized like Jenny Craig and so many others, theirs was a short term solution that was not teaching me how to live in the ‘real’ world. I wanted to tools to manage my weight and Anne Collins gives you that.
I just wanted to let you know, I really love this forum! It’s helped me realize that tomorrow really is another day..even later in the day is a different part of the day. So if i’m bad this morning that doesn’t mean it’s ok to be bad tonight! I think a big part of my previous problems was that when i ate something bad i just said oh wel i’ll start again tomorrow and badly the rest of the day….not anymore!!!
I lowered my cholesterol from 250 to 195 by exercise and eating better (thanks to Anne), Best wishes to everyone, your support is heartwarming!
Wow! I just inspired myself. That’s why I love this site – it truly makes you stop and think. I’ve had many lightbulb moments here!
For years I’ve gone up and down weight but there has been one weight (16 pounds above my target) I’ve never managed to get below and everytime I got near it I’d panic thinking I just can’t get below that, leave the diet go and head back up again. I broke that barrier 1 month ago for the first time in years … thanks.
I just wanted to tell you I enjoy the recipes and diet suggestions I found here and I am losing weight. It is easier every day. less like dieting and more like “how I always eat”. I’ve also found that when I fall into my “old eating habits” of too much sugar, my joints and my arthritis seem to flair up. I’ve lost 21 pounds so far, and seem to have settled into a pattern of a two pound loss per week. I’ve very pleased with this, and your tips on motivation made a big difference. Once I focused on why I wanted to loose weight I found the process much simpler. Thanks for your advice and information.
My sister has had raves about this and said it is easy to follow if you follow the rules and she has had great success with it. That is the road I am going to travel on now too!
For so long I used shame to motivate myself. That’s why I check out Anne’s motivation tips at least once a day. They are not “shame-based”! They are great touch-stones to make me feel/think that I really can loose this weight and feel good about myself through the whole process.
I’ve only just joined but am already impressed, above all by the ATTITUDE everyone has, including The team, who seems to live in the real world, unlike many other diet promoters, and is very supportive indeed.
