Diet Advice for Teenage Girls

Are you a teenage girl aged between 14 and 19?
If so, let me ask you a question.

What are your two most precious possessions?

The correct answer is: Your mind and body.

By comparison, everything else is valueless. Look after your mind and body and you can achieve anything you want. Let them go to waste and you’ll find life very difficult.

So how do you look after your mind and body? Answer: By following these three steps.

Breakfast. A glass of freshly squeezed orange juice (or a tin of fruit cocktail), a big bowl of cereal with low-fat milk, plus beans on toast. Smart girls know that the human body uses up a massive 440 calories during 8 hours sleep, so they don’t skip breakfast. They know it’s the most important meal of the day.Step One. Eat lots of good food
Why? Because it’s good for your body and good for your brain.
Here’s a sample of what you should be eating.

Lunch. A jumbo sandwich with lean meat (or tuna), cucumber, tomato, onion, sweetcorn and anything else you can fit into it. Just go easy on the fatty spread and mayo. If you can manage two of these sandwiches, so much the better. For dessert, have a low-fat yogurt or similar. Diet drinks are okay, but water is best. By the way, smart girls avoid candy and sodas because they know this sort of junk makes them spotty and fat.

Dinner. Lots of potatoes and vegetables with any lean meat or fish. For dessert, any fruit (including canned fruit), with low-fat yogurt or a dollop of low-fat ice-cream. Smart girls avoid fried food like burgers, fries, chicken nuggets etc. because they know it makes them tired, spotty and cranky.

Daily snacks. Eat sandwiches, low-fat yogurts, toast and jelly (jam), or bowls of cereal. But avoid high-fat foods like cookies, candy or cakes. Low-fat milk or water are the best drinks.

Step Two. Be smart and exercise your body
Why? Because if you don’t, you’ll get sluggish, unhealthy and dull. So if you don’t play sport, go for a brisk 20 minute walk every day. You may not feel like it to begin with, but afterwards you’ll feel great. Go with a friend or the dog, or even your Mum but get out into the fresh air. Which reminds me, don’t smoke! Only the dumbest teenagers smoke: don’t join their club.

Step Three. Get plenty of sleep
Why? Because sleep is a great spot-remover! It also kills stress and makes you look great. In a recent survey of top models, most said they slept at least 8 hours a night. So be smart, be beautiful and get plenty of rest.

Follow these three steps and I guarantee you’ll feel great. You’ll have an active mind, a beautiful body and loads of energy. Result? You’ll feel wonderful!

Too boring?
If you think this sounds too boring for words, let me tell you something. There is nothing more boring than a teenager with a cigarette in their mouth, or a teenager who hangs around a bar or in front of the TV, doing nothing. And there’s nothing more boring than being tired, unable to concentrate and cranky with your friends.

The world is a big place, full of opportunity and fun. And it’s all there, waiting for you. But if you don’t look after your mind and body, you won’t get anywhere. Of course, smart girls know this already. That’s why they eat well, take exercise and get plenty of rest.
