Rock Salt or Sea Salt vs. Ordinary Salt

Salt, or sodium chloride, is made up of 40% sodium and 60% chloride. It is the excess sodium that is bad for our health. Rock or sea salt contains the same amount of sodium as ordinary salt.

Three grinds from a salt mill is about 0.5g or 500mg.

If you really can’t do without salt, try a low-salt or a salt substitute.

Too much salt leads to fluid retention and weight gain.
