Pear-shaped people tend to store fat on their hips and thighs.

The bad news is, pear-shape dieters have more difficulty losing weight than apple-shape dieters.

The good news is, excess fat carried below the waistline is less risky than abdominal (stomach) fat for conditions like diabetes, heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure and gall bladder disease.

So pear-shape people have fewer weight-related health problems than apple-shape people.
