How Much Water When Dieting
Drinking Water Helps to Lose Weight
Dehydration causes fatigue, which often leads us to eat for energy when what we really need is a large glass of water. Even mild dehydration slows your metabolism.
Our bodies contain 10-12 gallons of water, depending on age, sex and muscle. The younger and leaner you are the higher your percentage of water.
If relatively inactive, the average adult loses about 11 cups of water a day. We replace about 4 cups through the food we eat which leaves a balance of 6-8 cups which we need to replace through drinking.
Drinking water also helps to rid the body of toxins.
