WOW! People on this site aren’t kidding when they say it has great support…
You want support. We got support. After joining on Mother’s Day (I have two grown daughters), I can’t believe the thoroughness (is that a word) of this website. The diet plans are absolutely doable. And the encouragement we receive from like minded people is the best. We have found the “mother ship”!!
This is a great place for motivation, support, ideas, etc. I have literally dieted 38 of my 48 years and I HAVE LEARNED MORE IN THE SIX WEEKS SINCE I JOINED THIS GROUP than ever before. Oh, I knew all there was to know about calories, fat grams, carbs, etc. I could write my own book. What I have learned….actually, what I am learning is about self-image, positive attitude, etc. I knew all the physical stuff but here I am learning about the mental part of weight loss. I am finding out that is an essential part of any weight loss program.
I would like to say a really big thanks to everyone!!! Even though I have only been in the program since Monday, I am totally amazed. Everyone is so helpful and upbeat. The inspiration and encouragement that comes from this group is just awesome. Anne, thanks mostly to you for providing all of us with such a great place to cry, gripe and laugh, and maybe solve our problems. My only regret is that I didn’t find this site sooner. I hope you all have a great (and healthy) weekend.

In 25 years I’ve never come across anyone with your warmth and dedication to helping others. Call me a cynic, but I don’t expect other people to be interested in me and my weight loss problem. You have changed all that. I’ve been a member of your program for nearly 6 months and I have lost 54 pounds. I’d rather not say how much I weigh (not yet anyway) but I will say that you personally have inspired me to lose more than any other program I’ve tried. I think you are awesome, I think your diets and your forum is awesome – you have been a life-changing experience for me and I can’t find the words to thank you enough. So I’ll just say “thanks”.

Thankyou for your reply and for caring. I really feel that you’re sincere and help others with their weight loss battles. My blood work and fitness tests have all come back EXCELLENT. I feel great. I’ve got 20 more pounds to go. I’ve loss 20 already. I’m on a roll. Thanks again for caring about us all!
I see what people mean about this forum being so supportive! I’ve never been in such a wonderful wonderful wonderful place. I feel I’m surrounded by people just like me, who really want me to succeed. It all stems from Anne herself, but all you guys are so sweet and so caring. I’ve been 300 pounds for years and I’ve tried tons of different diets but NOTHING ever like this. I’ve lost 17 and a half pounds so far but much more important… I really do think I can succeed this time. No more losing and gaining the same 10 pounds! Sorry for the rant, but I just wanted to say thanks to everyone.
This forum is such a great support, it gives us all a chance to chat about successes and struggles and whatever you’re going through you can talk about and get support, on good days and bad. all in all its a low key, realistic, no gimmicks plan. work hard, make good choices, have a plan for how to overcome bad choices on bad days, work together and track your progress.
Even tho I have only been a member a short time myself (3 weeks today) I can assure you that this place is just great. There is so much support and inspiration, it makes you want to do good. I had never posted on any kind of message board or forum until this one. Now, I can hardly wait to check the new messages every day.
Even after I lose all the weight I need to I’m staying here because of the great friends I’ve made. It’s like a second family and so much encouragement.

This is place is unlike any other and that’s a good thing! Best part you don’t have to limit yourself on only one diet, you can change if you want and then change back; until you find the best fit for you!
Such positive attitudes really help me a lot. I print some of them out and during the week I look at them and it helps me to know that I’m not the only one.
I have dieted forever, and have tried to include my family in it, but not like this. Anne gave me a great piece of advice and that was not to change everything overnight. It’s really working and I can’t believe how lucky I was to stumble across this site.

I must say I’m doing fantastic! I love your program. So far I’ve lost 20 lbs in 8 weeks. And it’s so easy to follow. I won’t say I don’t still get cravings for all the bad things I used to eat but they are getting fewer every day.

Anne, just wanted to let you know how incredibly wise you are. I was hesitating to join your program until after New Year’s as I have a Christmas Eve dinner to attend and a party New Year’s. You answered everything by just simply stating that a little indulging two days isn’t going to matter in the scheme of things, it will only take me a little longer to lose the 10 lbs I have struggled with for a year. Many will be able to relate to your story. I for one tried LA Weight Loss years ago, but unlike you I actually bought some of the products – talk about stupid! But, like you I learned my lesson – I stopped because I realized like Jenny Craig and so many others, theirs was a short term solution that was not teaching me how to live in the ‘real’ world. I wanted to tools to manage my weight and Anne Collins gives you that.

…so far, using the quickstart recipes man it’s easy! like 10 minutes max time i have to be doing stuff so far. and less than 30 minutes total time before my meal is ready! i love these quick start meals! besides, i’m an awful meal planner so i’m glad that anne has those quickstarts – i just mixed and matched some stuff that sounded good. it’s awesome! so much better than any other diet i’ve ever been on! it’s day 3 now and i still don’t feel like a war prisoner!!!

I just wanted to let you know, I really love this forum! It’s helped me realize that tomorrow really is another day..even later in the day is a different part of the day. So if i’m bad this morning that doesn’t mean it’s ok to be bad tonight! I think a big part of my previous problems was that when i ate something bad i just said oh wel i’ll start again tomorrow and badly the rest of the day….not anymore!!!

For years I’ve gone up and down weight but there has been one weight (16 pounds above my target) I’ve never managed to get below and everytime I got near it I’d panic thinking I just can’t get below that, leave the diet go and head back up again. I broke that barrier 1 month ago for the first time in years … thanks Anne.

I just wanted to tell you I enjoy the recipes and diet suggestions I found here and I am losing weight. It is easier every day. less like dieting and more like “how I always eat”. I’ve also found that when I fall into my “old eating habits” of too much sugar, my joints and my arthritis seem to flair up. I’ve lost 21 pounds so far, and seem to have settled into a pattern of a two pound loss per week. I’ve very pleased with this, and your tips on motivation made a big difference. Once I focused on why I wanted to loose weight I found the process much simpler. Thanks for your advice and information.

Well, this is my fourth week on the low glycemic diet and I lost 4 pounds. this week. That’s a total of 12 pounds since March 8, and I actually feel better. I went to the doctor last week and she reduced my insulin dosages, which is terrific.

My sister has had raves about this and said it is easy to follow if you follow the rules and she has had great success with it. That is the road I am going to travel on now too!

For so long I used shame to motivate myself. That’s why I check out Anne’s motivation tips at least once a day. They are not “shame-based”! They are great touch-stones to make me feel/think that I really can loose this weight and feel good about myself through the whole process.
