What makes us women miserable,
keeps us fat and is very harmful to our long term health and happiness?
Many of us women spend half our lives feeling guilty about something
Why? Because itís forced
on us. Who by? By everyone!
Our husband makes us feel
guilty about not having enough sex.
Our children make us feel guilty for not spending more money on them.
Our parents make us feel guilty for not living up to their standards.
Our in-laws make us feel guilty about everything else!
To make matters worse...
Our sisters make us feel guilty for not baby-sitting their children.
Our neighbors make us feel guilty about the state of our house and garden.
Every time we open a magazine or newspaper, we see nothing but beautiful
women with perfect bodies. No wonder we feel guilty about our own size
Truth is, weíre drowning
It clings to us morning noon and night. Does it affect men in the
same way? No. Why not? Because they donít have the same amount of responsibility
to live up to, as we do. Once they finish work, they are finished for
the day while we have another three or four hours work to do. If we have
a baby, we can be up all night.
Guilt is bad for us!
Why? Because it makes us feel bad about ourselves. It makes us feel
depressed, inadequate and miserable. Result? We seek comfort in eating
rubbish, which only makes us more fat and more unhappy.
Well girls, itís time to
Itís time to stop carrying all this guilt around on your shoulders
and start enjoying life for a change. For example, if you really donít
feel like having sex, donít waste time feeling guilty about it! I mean,
whatís the big deal? Itís not a hanging offence. Likewise, if you donít
want to spend a fortune on your childrenís trainers, donít feel guilty
about it! And if you just canít please your parents, or in-laws, or sisters,
or neighbors then donít worry about it. Remember: thereís no pleasing
some people and no amount of feeling guilty about the situation is going
to help them, or you!
The same goes for your appearance.
OK, you may be overweight Ė but so what? As long as youíre not too overweight,
youíre absolutely fine. Besides, real beauty always comes from inside.
I mean, thereís nothing more beautiful and enchanting as a lovely smile.
Even if youíre extremely overweight,
thereís still no point feeling guilty about it. Why not? Because, as Iíve
just said, guilt makes us fatter. Much better to get on with enjoying
life and attend to your weight when the mood takes you. If you feel like
dieting, fine. If you donít, then donít.
Of course, you wonít be able
to stop feeling guilty about things, overnight. After all, youíve been
brainwashed for so long that itís probably second nature to you to feel
guilty about something. However, there comes a time in all our lives when
we have to say ĎEnough is enough!í and try to make a new start.
So why not have a go? Why
not stop feeling like a war criminal and give yourself a bit of credit
for a change?
We women have been made
to feel guilty for far too long. Itís time we started to take pride in
all the things we DO, rather than worry about the few things we DON'T.
