Bingeing versus craving
Bingeing is quite different from a food craving. Bingeing usually indicates a more serious problem. Submitting to a craving and eating a cake or a candy bar is not bingeing. Bingeing is eating for eating's sake often uncontrollably and even when you aren't hungry. Bingers will grab at food with their hands rather than waste time with a knife and fork. There is a desperation about bingers who often binge for emotional reasons and may do so until they are sick. This is a long way from the normal cravings that most dieters experience. If you think you may be suffering from a form of bingeing, please talk to your doctor as soon as possible. |
