How Can I Increase My Intake of Folate (Folic Acid) Without Gaining Weight?

Folate is definitely an important nutrient - particularly if you are planning to become pregnant, in which case you should increase your intake for at least three months prior to conceiving.

Fortunately, folate rich foods are not high in calories. The best sources of folate include pulses, fortified breakfast cereals, corn, asparagus, Brussels sprouts and other green vegetables, soy flour and wheatgerm.
