What is Xenical?
Xenical is a prescription only diet and weight loss pill, designed for dieters with serious obesity problems whose weight loss progress can be monitored by their doctor.

Xenical contains orlistat, a new type of diet drug. Unlike other diet and weight loss pills, Xenical, a lipase-inhibitor, works in the intestinal tract and causes excess fat to be excreted instead of digested. The makers of Xenical claim that it reduces the amount of fat that can be absorbed into the bloodstream by up to thirty percent. This corresponds to about 600 calories a day, which should lead to a weight loss of about 1 pound a week.

However, because this excess fat goes straight through the body, dieters are advised to eat a low-fat diet otherwise they can get diarrhea.
