Body Wraps for Weight Loss
Body wraps are elasticated bandages soaked
in a variety of solutions: e.g. amino acids, herbal extracts, and collagen
solutions. When wrapped around (e.g.) the thighs and legs, they are supposed
to offer a range of benefits, including weight loss and fat-reduction
Fat Reduction and Weight Loss
There is no medical evidence that these body wraps reduce fat or cause
weight loss. Any apparent benefits are likely to be both temporary and
cosmetic. Indeed, the promotional literature for these 'weight loss' products
typically states that lasting weight loss and fat reduction is possible
only via orthodox dietary and exercise methods.
Verdict
You may enjoy the experience of body wrapping, but be aware that it does
not produce any lasting weight loss. Nor does it produce any fat reduction.
A Note about Healthy Weight Control
Fad diets, unbalanced diets, diet pills, diet supplements, weight loss
surgery and other short term weight loss methods are not recommended for
permanent weight control. The best way to lose excess fat and maintain
a healthy weight in the long term is to follow a balanced calorie-controlled
diet (that improves your eating habits) and take regular aerobic exercise.
