How do I stop comfort eating?
If you need food for comfort, then eat! Generally, it's not comfort eating that is the problem - it's the food we choose! So choose a lower-calorie snack, like a bunch of grapes, or a wholemeal sandwich, or a bowl of cereal with fat-free milk. But avoid commercial popcorn, pretzels, ice-cream and other highly processed snack foods. Tip: When you feel fed up, take some exercise. Exercise cheers us up and helps control our appetite. |
